38 Dolores is a socially vibrant, modern, urban habitat at the apex of San Francisco’s most diverse neighborhoods. The mixed-use building designed by BAR Architects has approximately 84 units on 8 floors, including a large format retail tenant, parking levels for residential and retail, and a 3rd floor podium courtyard. The goal of the project was to bring people, housing, community-serving retail, and social vitality to the site location. The landscape scope included a podium courtyard with an edible garden, a living roof native habitat, street level sidewalks with rain gardens on Market, Dolores, and 14th Streets, and corner plaza and parklet at Market and Dolores Street. It is a prominent and popular lounging spot for the public. The project is LEED Gold certified and SITES Pilot 2 Star Certification.
