Avalon South is a mixed use development project located in Emeryville, California adjacent to the neighborhood’s transit hub and the newly renovated Emeryville Public Market. For this LEED project we teamed up with TCA Architects to design a pedestrian friendly streetscape and a roof top amenity deck for residents. The roof top amenity deck features versatile outdoor rooms, a BBQ and trellis-covered dining area, fire pits, a water feature, and over 7,000 sq. ft. of vegetated roof gardens. The planting palette is inspired by coral reefs and features, vibrant, drought tolerant and CA native plants that add a lush, backyard feel to this roofscape.
