In the summer of 2010, APDW, in conjunction with Miller Creek Middle School and numerous donors and volunteers, completed the Edible School Garden Kitchen at Miller Creek Middle School in San Rafael, California. The concept was to create a engaging space used for education and promoting a healthy lifestyle. Food for lunch programs and snacks would be made fresh and the kitchen would be a place for chefs to come and impart cooking skills on the young tenders of the garden. The local climate is mild and suitable for year around outdoor education, allowing for the kids to see the annual cycle of growing food.
